Switzerland, Its Scenery, History and Literary Associations

Oscar Kuhns (1856-1929)
Switzerland, Its Scenery, History and Literary Associations
New York: Crowell [1910]

Gray, white, purple, and gold on light blue cloth.

Armstrong rarely created pictorial bindings, rather focusing on certain key elements to create an interesting binding, as showcased throughout this exhibit. Here, we have a rare pictorial scene: a stylized depiction of a small town at the foot of the Swiss Alps, in a style reminiscent of stained glass.
