Field Book of Western Wild Flowers
Margaret Armstrong (1867-1944)
Field Book of Western Wild Flowers
New York; London: G.P. Putnam’s Sons, 1915 (New York : Knickerbocker Press)
Gold on orange-brown cloth.
As Armstrong stepped away from her career designing book covers, she pursued other projects near and dear to her interests. Befitting an artist who designed wonderfully botanical covers for decades, Armstrong went out west to study the flora for a period. She wrote and illustrated this Field Book of Western Wild Flowers, with 500 illustrations in black and white and 48 in color.
