Here we begin to see the nature motifs Armstrong generally included in her book covers. She tended to create stylized, yet accurate, flower designs. Armstrong incorporated these stylized flowers within the consistently pleasing symmetry of her work. Armstrong also designed the lettering for her bindings; notice the R in ‘Burial.’ The trailing line of the R is one of her most distinctive traits, and this is an early example of one of her most iconic characteristics.
